Sang-ok Kim’s Bombing

One hundred years ago, Sang-ok Kim, a member of the Korean Heroic Corps,
threw a bomb at the Japanese-controlled Jongno Police Station that imprisoned
and tortured countless Korean independence activists.

He hid for ten days after throwing the bomb at the Jongno Police Station.
On Jan. 22, Kim had a gun battle with Japanese military police officers.
Running out of a bullet, he killed himself with one remaining shot, admonishing Japanese officers who instigated him to surrender.

We must remember Sang-ok Kim, who threw a bomb at Jongno Police Station,
a symbol of Japanese Rule in the middle of Seoul, and fought against hundreds
of Japanese officers with indomitable will for independence.
