▲형광등.네온전구,조명기구– Fluorescent light tubes and bulbs, high intensity discharge (HID), metal halide,sodium, and neon bulbs.깨지면 수은이 유출될 수 있다. 수은은 신경계에 해를 입히며 태아에 악영향을 미친다.강이나 바다에 흘러들어 고기를 오염시켜 결국 인체에 흡수된다. 

▲ 온도계 –구형 온도계에 수은이 들어 있다. 

▲전자제품: televisions and computer monitors, computers,printers, VCRs, cell phones, telephones, radios, and microwave ovens. 납·카드뮴·구리·크로뮴 등 중금속이 들어있다. 

▲Electrical Switches and Relays- 3.5그램 정도의 수은 함유. Mercury switches can be found in some chest freezers, pre-1972 washing machines, sump pumps, electric space heaters, clothes irons, silent light switches, automobile hood and trunk lights, and ABS brakes.

▲체온계 – 0.5그램 정도의 수은 함유. 

많은 병원에선 수은이 없는 체온계로 무료로 교환해 주는 프로그램이 있다. 

▲에어로졸 캔 - 부탄 등 대부분 유독물질 함유. 표면에 TOXIC 이나FLAMMABLE 이라고 표기된 경우 완전히 빈 통이 아니면 쓰레기통에 버려선 안된다.
