Avionics/Electronics Technician (Wire Harness)

Responsibilities:
  • Read, interpret and work from free form drawings as well as from controlled documentation and processes.
  • Independently fabricate first article harness assemblies and/or fabricating electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Independently perform verifications and documents results in a clear, precise and complete manner.
  • Validate parts lists for avionics hardware.
  • Assist with the development of production processes for first time production runs.
  • Able to adapt to constant changing work assignments and fast paced work environment.
  • Excellent concentration and attention to detail with outstanding work efficiency and accuracy.
  • Using computer to record work performed on shop floor management system (ERP) as well as use email (MS Outlook).
  • All candidates will complete an assembly/soldering workmanship test as part of the interview process.
  • Think creatively; question the status quo, while following documentation and maintaining prescribed quality standards.
Basic Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum five years’ relevant experience.
  • Experience with performing electronic testing and inspection using portable measuring devices.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Associates Degree is desired.
  • Demonstrated experience fabricating harness and electro-mechanical assemblies and prototype development.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to read, interpret and follow:
  • Schematics, engineering drawings, circuit layouts, and parts list.
  • Cable Harnesses: wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and parts lists.
  • Mechanical Assemblies: mechanical drawings and parts lists.
  • Proficient with computers and the ability to use MS Office, shop floor management software such as ERP or other related programs.
  • NASA-STD-8739.3 certification preferred (Currently or previously held).
  • NASA-STD-8739.4 certification preferred. (Currently or previously held).
  • Experience preferred in fast-paced production environment with flight hardware.
  • Clean Room experience is preferred.
Additional Requirements:
  • Must be able to work 2nd shift on a daily basis, 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Willing to travel for short and extended trips as needed.
  • Repetitive assembly operations, grasping, standing, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position.
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs is required.
