Position Description


Position Title: Consultative Selling Associate


Location: Store


Status: Non-Exempt


Reports to: Lead, Consultative Selling Assistant Store Manager; Softlines, Hardlines, Brand Central, or Home Improvement


Position Summary:

The Consultative Selling Associate is responsible for selling and servicing customers. The associate must also be willing and able to handle customer issues that may arise on the sales floor. The associate will spend all of their time on the sales floor.


Scope:

Depending upon the assignment, the associate will sell in one or more consultative selling departments (e.g., Fine Jewelry, Footwear, Appliances).


Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver superior customer service.
  • Drive revenue growth by using good techniques of selling and service. This includes ringing of sales through the POS system.
  • Consistently execute operational and selling processes, and ensure sales performance standards are met (e.g., Credit “May I” program, installation, service contracts).
  • Fully optimize Credit (e.g., share, AccountCare, new accounts) and other Miscellaneous income opportunities (e.g., service contracts, Installation, Gift Card, Home Service Leads).
  • Maintain knowledge of Sears products, and use the knowledge to assist customers.
  • Maintain merchandising standards within assigned departments, and maintain departmental readiness.
  • Assist in basic floor replenishment.
  • Assist in handling and resolving customer issues.
  • Follow all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties, as assigned.
